Hello Al-Anon family,
On behalf of the current and past Al-Anon Beaufort County (ABC) trusted servants, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit this page, watching the embedded video above and now reading this short letter.
As we near the December 2, 2023 Al-Anon Information Service (AIS)/Intergroup meeting, it will be time for rotation of service once again and we will be electing/accepting volunteers to fill the available positions. Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Member Outreach Coordinator, Communications, District Liaison, and Area Liaison will all be available. Many of our current trusted servants have held each position there is to hold which means we are in need of some new or returning faces to step up and rotate in. Rotation of service is what keeps Al-Anon fresh and moving forward. Also, some of these positions have been sitting vacant, so it is important that we have new volunteers.
If you’ve never done service beyond the group level before, Al-Anon Beaufort County (AIS) is the perfect place to start! And for dual members (Al-Anon members also in AA), it’s THE place to serve! Most importantly, in October 2022, Al-Anon Beaufort County unanimously passed the “Choose your Term Length” motion. Now, you can choose a 1, 2 or 3 year term commitment, which we have found makes easing into service beyond the group level less daunting. Also, all ABC meetings take place on Zoom and last one hour. We meet 6 times a year; typically first Saturdays of even months at 10:00am (occasionally subject to change), so it is not an overwhelming commitment either.
Service to Al-Anon Beaufort County has enriched my recovery, enveloped me in the fellowship throughout Beaufort County, and has unquestionably improved my life. I know many others can say the same. Please email me with any questions or inquiries about getting involved and we hope to see you in attendance at the December 2, 2023 AIS meeting!
With gratitude,
Alex B
Al-Anon Beaufort County Chairperson (2021-2023, 2025)
